Worship in Brooklyn
The project Worship in Brooklyn metaphorically investigates the role
that church, temple and mosque play as cultural center to their respective
ethnic communities. In addition to housing an inordinately large number of
religious structures, Brooklyn serves as a quintessential role model for the
multi-cultural diversity that truly represents the New York persona. The thrust
of my project is to investigate how these religious institutions provide and
contribute to an individual's need for reverential reflection. Worship in
Brooklyn celebrates these individual differences while still recording their
collective commonalties.
